Once the birth of our baby had occurred, one of the most anticipated moments in the surrogacy process was undoubtedly the issuance of the birth certificate: a step that would bring us closer to returning home.
Together with the hospital certificate, our surrogacy center coordinator submitted all the necessary documents for the process, as well as the documentation of both the mother and father (passports, birth certificates, and marriage certificate) to the relevant Civil Registry Office in Kyiv to request the issuance of our daughter's birth certificate.
So, just a few days after her birth, we were summoned by the Civil Registry authorities to sign and collect our baby's birth certificate.
On that day, one of the surrogacy center drivers picked us up along with our coordinator, who handled the paperwork at the Registry Office and acted as a translator when introducing our baby and signing the paperwork.
A very simple but essential procedure for our entire family.
