Embryo biopsy is one of the most important stages of the surrogacy process.

Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) allows for the study of the genetic characteristics of embryos before their transfer to the gestational carrier's uterus.
The primary objective is to diagnose and prevent the transmission of severe diseases caused by genetic alterations.
The program we had chosen included the study of five chromosomes, with the possibility of accessing studies of more chromosomes if desired. In our case, we opted for the study included in the program.
One of the advantages we noticed compared to the same study in Argentina was the speed with which we received the results: we had the complete report in just three days.
Secondly, we found a difference compared to other surrogacy centers in Ukraine and Georgia: the report specified the gender of each of the embryos studied, whether female or male.
In our previous experience, the surrogacy center refrained from informing families about the gender of the embryos unless they opted for a so-called "VIP" plan with a much higher cost than most surrogacy centers in Ukraine.
The embryo biopsy report was written in English by the laboratory.
The embryos classified as "normal" were cryopreserved for embryo transfer, which would take place in a few days.
Undoubtedly, the study provided us with additional peace of mind in the process.
