After the birth and a good while of skin-to-skin contact, a nurse accompanied us to our room, our home for the first 48 hours of our baby.
Being able to witness the birth and staying with our daughter from that moment on was a huge added value that led us to choose this surrogacy center, as not all surrogacy centers allow access to the maternity clinic. In many cases, they only allow brief visits until the time of discharge.
The medical care from labor until discharge was excellent, we will share our experience at the clinic in future posts.
Like all babies born in good health, we spent two days under observation in the clinic. Watch the video tour showing our room, which had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed in these crucial first hours.
In Ukraine, it is common for children to be born in public maternity hospitals, and babies born through surrogacy are no exception. We stayed at a hospital dedicated exclusively to the field of obstetrics, located in a central neighborhood of Kyiv, Ukraine.
The surrogacy center had specially reserved a private room for us, equipped to make our stay comfortable. It was equipped with the typical orthopedic hospital bed, a sofa bed, and the classic transparent bassinet for the newborn. In addition, a full bathroom, a changing table, a dining table and chairs, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, an electric kettle, and a television. From the windows, we had a lovely view of the city.
We will share more details of these first days with you soon...
