We are Lorena and Ramiro, parents of Benjamin and Catalina, living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Our children have been in our dreams and hearts long before we held them in our arms, and today, we would like to share our journey to them:
Our story as a couple began in 2010, a year that ended with a very special marriage proposal: it happened while I was being wheeled into the operating room for one of my surgeries due to uterine fibroids. When the doctors saw me crying, they thought it was out of fear, but I was crying happy tears.
The big day arrived a year later when we got married in Rami's homeland, the Argentine Patagonia.
We always dreamed of expanding our family, and after a period of trying, doctors recommended high-complexity assisted reproductive treatments, in addition to five more uterine surgeries suggested by the specialists who were treating me.
After four years of trying everything and more, a medical board convened and told us, 'this is as far as we can go,' and their alternative was surrogacy.
So, in the absence of regulations in Argentina, we decided to travel to Ukraine, where surrogacy is regulated, and they have highly experienced teams in all areas of the process. Undoubtedly, the best decision of our lives.
Two weeks after the medical board, we flew to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, heading to a surrogacy center. Our dream was getting closer.
Ten months after that first trip, we returned to Ukraine with an extra suitcase, accompanied by all four grandparents, to welcome Benjamin, our first big dream come true.
And a few years later, we returned as a family of three to Ukraine, this time to a new surrogacy center, to welcome Catalina.
Sharing our life journey with you has become a wonderful life goal that multiplies our joy for every family that achieves their dream, just like us, in Ukraine or any of the countries we currently recommend as surrogacy destinations.
Every adventure begins with 'yes, let's do it,' and by sharing our experience, we feel we can help those who want to fulfill that dream.
