On March 1st, spring began in Ukraine, and with it, the capital became even more filled with flowers: colors inundate the city's flowerbeds, and florist stands are a vibrant rainbow of petals.
Ukrainians love to give flowers, and you'll see them carrying bouquets through the streets, on the metro, and on buses all year round, especially on special occasions like International Women's Day, the Day of Spring, or Valentine's Day.
As a testament to this adorable Ukrainian passion for flowers, during our trip to Kyiv in the midst of the 2021 pandemic, flower shops were one of the few businesses still operating normally: for Ukrainians, that service is truly essential.
Families who traveled to Kyiv in spring always tell us how wonderful the city looks during this time, and today we're sharing current images from Ukrainian influencer @juletts that showcase the charm of this season in Kyiv.
If your travels to Ukraine fall between March 31st and May 31st, the dates when spring begins and ends, this will be the colorful landscape of the city.
Long live spring!
