Sterilizing On The Go

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

Most pediatricians recommend sterilizing baby bottles at least until the baby is three months old to prevent gastrointestinal discomfort, and our return flight was no exception.

In our first surrogacy experience in 2016, due to a flight schedule change in Kyiv, we missed our connection in Paris to Buenos Aires and had to wait for the next flight in the French capital with our newborn son.

At that time, even though we had more than 10 sterilized bottles (I'm not kidding), they were not enough for this unexpected delay on the way back.

I found myself sneaking into the hotel kitchen where we were staying in Paris, washing and boiling bottles, much to the dismay of the restaurant manager who was terrified that I might have an accident among the pots and pans.

So, on this second surrogacy journey, we decided to be better prepared and find a more practical way to sterilize without having to carry an arsenal of bottles in our hand luggage or resorting to kitchen acrobatics in case of an unexpected delay.

That's how we came across these English tablets that sterilize without the need for hot water. You just need to bring a container, dissolve the tablets in water, and immerse the bottles and pacifiers.

The brand is Milton, and we chose the boxes of 50 tablets from their range of products, which also includes travel sterilizing containers and antibacterial products.
